Silvio Carta

Founded in the early 1950s, the winery and distillery Silvio Carta is currently one of the most active in Sardinia and in the national territory, and was born with the vinification and aging in centuries-old Sardinian chestnut barrels of the wine Vernaccia , an authentic glory of Sardinian enology to which over the years has been added a wide variety of wines such as Cannonau di Sardegna DOC, Cagnulari Isola dei Nuraghi IGP, Monica di Sardegna DOC and Vermentino Serenata DOCG Superiore.

Thanks to the skillful work of Silvio Carta's son, Elio, the company has since reached an international audience with a wide range of high-quality products in the field of liqueurs and spirits, such as Mirto, Limoncello, Gins, Grappas, Vermouths, Amaro, Spritz, Bitter and Licorice.

Always under the banner of quality and naturalness, Silvio Carta carries tradition and innovation forward hand in hand. Therefore, the philosophy is well summed up by the claim "Harmony of Nature"."

Founder Silvio Carta, meanwhile, at 92 years old, participates daily in the company's activities, still caring for the myrtle, lemon, licorice and juniper plants, as all products are made using raw materials from the company's botanical garden.

Silvio Carta is located on the west coast of Sardinia, Sinis, just 10 km from the sea. This is a strength of all the products because the vineyards, Vernaccia wine itself is found only in this area, the so-called Tirso Valley, the juniper and myrtle plants, grow near the sea on the coast.

In Sardinia, the Mistral wind is very strong all year round, and the salinity of the sea reaches the berries and grapes, giving them a unique fragrance, aroma and flavor.

This is an area particularly suited to the cultivation of renowned grape varieties and the spontaneous development of medicinal plants.

The nature with its clear sea, mountains covered with an intricate vegetation of wild beauty , the strong winds that blow for most of the year and the bright sunshine that warms in every season allow the island's flora and fauna to have organoleptic properties that are unique in the world and impossible to imitate.
