Èrema Cannonau di Sardegna DOC is a red wine with character, produced by the Siddùra winery in Luogosanto exclusively from Cannonau grapes from the vineyards of Gallura.
The soils are sandy and calcareous, with an altitude between 200-300m above sea level. The yield per hectare is 65 quintals and the vineyards are trained by Guyot and spurred cordon, with a density of 5000 plants per hectare.
The grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and macerated for 10-15 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-26°C. Fermentation lasted 10-15 days. After fermentation, the wine underwent a period of maturation sur lies, before bottling in spring
The colour is a brilliant red with violet hues. The nose expresses fine and intense aromas of berries, cherry and Mediterranean bush.
The palate is fresh, fruity and balanced, with a pleasant drinkability. A fruity and immediate Cannonau, excellent to serve at 16-18°C, perfect to accompany hors d’oeuvres, tasty first courses, grilled red meats and medium-aged cheeses. It will be best appreciated within five years after the harvest.
