The story of Pedra Niedda Tenute winery began almost on a bet, Enrico Menicalli from Tuscany and a great wine enthusiast and Susanna, born in Sardinia, decided to take over the family lands that had been uncultivated for years.
They moved permanently to the Sardinian hinterland, to the foothills of the Giara, more specifically to the village of Sini a small town in central-southern Sardinia located among the rolling hills of the historic Marmilla region.
Starting from scratch, the two young men driven by ambition and a willingness to sacrifice rolled up their sleeves to give light to their company with dedication and expertise.
Enrico Menicalli, a graduate in agricultural sciences with experience in the wine industry in Italy and abroad, is independently involved in vineyard management and wine production in the winery.
Susanna, a graduate of Planning and Management of Tourism Systems is involved in communication, business marketing and sales.
The first planting of the Pedra Niedda Tenute winery vineyard sees the light of day in 2018 and the second in 2019.
At the same time they decided to manage two leased vineyards, where the winery's first wine was born: Basca Cannonau di Sardegna DOC.
The first vineyard is located in the municipality of Isili at 700 meters above sea level, while the second is located in Morgongiori a few steps from Mount Arci.
A strong collaboration was also born with a friend who is a winemaker in the area, with whom we work all year round, resulting in the wine, Tittia Sardegna Semidano DOC.
