Some history on the murals. The first mural was made by a group of Milanese anarchists in 1969 who signed themselves Dionysus. These works in most cases deal mainly with social, political, economic and cultural issues.
To date there are more than 350 murals that are now an integral part of the country’s image, attracting thousands of foreign Italian tourists. This is all thanks to those who have worked hard over the years, outsiders, local painters, spontaneous groups in general, in addition to the ever-present recovery operation of the various local governments.
