Baccamora is a still red wine Carignano del Sulcis DOC composed of 90 per cent Carignano, Sardinia’s main grape variety, with the remainder given by indigenous varieties such as Bovale, Pascale and Monica, in a single-cell vinification.

Baccamora Carignano del Sulcis DOC is the expression of a unique terroir: the bush-trained vineyards of Locci’s Domu, located in the Sulcis sub-region between Is Urigus and Sua Baccas.

The vineyard is 60 years old and was planted around 1950 on sandy, clay and limestone soil, with a density of 6000-7000 plants per hectare.

Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, without the addition of artificial flavourings, tannins or selected yeasts.

Baccamora Carignano del Sulcis DOC is an intense ruby red colour, the nose expresses aromas of ripe red fruit with spicy and toasted notes.

In the mouth, it denotes character, with soft tannins and a fresh mineral flavour.

It is the ideal accompaniment for roasted and braised red meat, enhancing its aromas and creating ensembles of great taste complexity. It then pairs beautifully with cheeses, especially hard mature cheeses such as Sardinian pecorino.
