Galavera Cagnulari from the eponymous
is a still red wine Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, made from Cagnulari grapes grown in the Usini countryside.
The Cagnulari vines originate in Pirapeglias, in the Usini area, planted in 1998 are spurred-guyot cordon trained, with 4,000 plants per hectare for a yield of 60 quintals on loose, mixed sand and clay soil at an altitude of 210 meters above sea level.
In the winery where the harvest that usually takes place in late September, fermentation continues for a period of 20 days in thermo-conditioned tanks. Malolactic fermentation is carried out entirely. Cagnulari wine is aged on the lees.
Galavera Cagnulari Isola dei Nuraghi IGT is a wine with a dark red color, the nose gives beautiful scents of Mediterranean scrub and ripe red fruits.
The mouthfeel is warm, full-bodied and with a robust tannic texture.
At the table it goes well with main courses of earthy cuisine, roasts and aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
