Fiara is a still red wine Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, made from Cagnulari grapes grown in Usini, Sardinia, by the
Galavera Winery
.
The grapes grow at Sas Narulas, in the Usini countryside, on loose, mixed sand and clay soil at an altitude of 210 meters above sea level.
The vines planted in 2006 are spurred-guyot cordon trained, with 4,000 plants per hectare for a yield of 60 quintals.
Harvesting takes place during the last days of September. In the winery, fermentation takes place for a period of 20 days in thermo-conditioned tanks. Malolactic fermentation is carried out entirely. Maturation on yeasts.
Fiara Cagnulari presents itself to the eye as an impenetrable red. The nose is intense with hints of Mediterranean scrub and very ripe small red fruits.
In the mouth it is a warm, full-bodied Cagnulari with a robust texture.
Excellent when paired with game dishes, local meats and aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
