Andolo is a Cannonau di Sardegna DOC still red wine made exclusively from Cannonau grapes harvested in Gonnesa, produced by the winery Funtana ‘e Mari in Sardinia.
Cannonau grapes come from the best bunches grown in vineyards 5 years old on clay soil with a north/east exposure at 30 meters above sea level. The guyot training system is used.
Grapes are harvested in the traditional way, by hand in small plastic crates, this is done to preserve the quality of the grapes and usually takes place during the month of September.
Andolo Cannonau di Sardegna DOC is a wine with a beautiful ruby red color, tending to garnet reflections consistent and crystal clear.
The nose is fine and complex, with fruity hints of ripe fruit such as plum and floral hints of dried rose petals. Fruity and floral are well balanced by spice and notes reminiscent of the scent of the Mediterranean given the vineyard’s proximity to the sea.
On the palate a Cannonau, warm and soft, moderately savory and rightly tannic. Balanced and persistent on the finish.
At the table it accompanies meat dishes such as roasts and feathered and furred game. Excellent when paired with aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
