Primo Solco is a still red wine Carignano del Sulcis DOC, made from 100% Carignano grapes, produced by the winery Eural Sulcis of Carbonia in Sardinia.
The pure Carignano grapes come from vineyards located in Sulcis, on loose, mostly sandy soil, trained by spurred cordon, with a planting density of 4200 plants per hectare and a yield of 60 quintals.
Once the grapes reach perfect ripeness, they are harvested by hand in small baskets, then transferred to the winery where they are de-stemmed and macerated in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Primo Solco matures in steel on the lees.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place over a period of 25 days at a temperature of 15 °C.
Primo Solco Carignano del Sulcis DOC shows a bright red color to the eye, the nose is fine and intense, with hints of Mediterranean scrub and red fruits such as cherry and currant.
In the mouth, it is a fresh wine with good taste-olfactory balance.
At the table it perfectly accompanies grilled meats, Sardinian-style lamb and suckling pig, and semi-mature cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 18 °C.
“Facing the Island of Sant’Antioco, formerly known as “Solky,” this wine, “Primo Solco,” was born. Just as the plow, which has always been used in the cultivation of vineyards, turns the earth to give it new life, so “Primo Solco” represents for us the birth of a new bond between man, viticulture and its territory.”
Primo Solco Carignano has a developmental capacity of 8 years.
