Sinfonia Gallura is a Sardinian still white wine Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, made exclusively from Vermentino grapes, produced by the San Michele di Berchidda Consortium in Sardinia.
The vineyards, 10 hectares of Vermentino, are guyot trained with a planting pattern of 2.5 m. x 1,00 m. with drip system for emergency irrigation. The vines grow on ‘sabbione da granito in disfacimento‘ soil in Località San Michele in the countryside of Berchidda in Gallura.
The grapes are grown in a terroir that is perfect for their ripening, with a typical Mediterranean climate characterised by spring and autumn rains, warm and breezy summers with significant temperature fluctuations.
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand in the traditional manner to safeguard the integrity of the berries.
In the cellar the process of winemaking sees a short cold maceration at a temperature of 6 to 8 °C of the destemmed acids, subsequent soft pressing and clarification of the must, fermentation in stainless steel at a low temperature between 13 and 15 °C for about 10 to 15 days. Subsequent refinement on the lees for 5/6 months, then further refinement in the bottle for 1 month.
Sinfonia Gallura Vermentino DOCG is straw yellow in colour with greenish highlights. A wine with a bouquet of yellow flowers, broom and fruity apple notes.
In the mouth, it is warm, with a good structure, where a pleasant softness combined with mineral notes, savouriness and freshness give it a special personality. A pleasant bitter sensation further characterises its typicality.
Excellent as an aperitif, at the table it goes perfectly with shellfish and vegetable-based first courses, with shellfish, seafood and crustaceans, medium-aged cheeses, and cured meats with a full but delicate flavour.
It is recommended to taste at a temperature of 8-10 °C.
Sinfonia Gallura is the winery’s firstborn, the Vermentino di Gallura DOCG ‘Invidia Gallura’ 2012, launched on the market in July 2013.
