The Cagnulari Isola dei Nuraghi IGT from the Pisoni Cellars of Usini is a still red wine made from pure Cagnulari grapes.
The grapes come from vineyards on limestone soils about 30 years old bred in the alberello style and with yields of about 50-60 quintals per hectare located around the hills of Usini.
In the cellar, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with soft punching down and delestage. Maceration is conducted for about 15-20 days, for optimal anthocyanin extraction, and with recovery of the polyphenolic fraction by soft pressing of the pomace.
Cantine Pisoni’s Cagnulari Isola dei Nuraghi IGT reveals a deep ruby red color tending toward violet.
The nose is intense and persistent, with hints of small red fruits on all the blackberry typical of the variety. A slight spiciness balances the harmoniousness of this wine.
Flavor balance benefits from good tannins and discreet acid backbone, well balanced by powerful alcohol. Softness and delicacy characterize the overall approach of this wine.
At the table it perfectly accompanies first courses of great earthy cuisine, red meats, cured meats semi-mature cheeses.
It is recommended to taste at a temperature between 15 and 18 °C.
