Sant’Efis of the Trexenta Winery of Senorbì is a Nasco di Cagliari DOC still white wine made from Nasco grapes, one of Sardinia’s oldest white grape varieties.
The first traces of cultivation date back to 1837, mainly in the province of Cagliari. The grape variety is used primarily for the production of dessert wines, although it also works well in dry form.
Winery: short cold pre-fermentation maceration, soft pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation. Aging on noble lees for 60 days with repeated batonage.
Nasco di Cagliari DOC Sant’Efis is straw yellow in color with golden reflections, bright to the eye. The nose is intense and harmonious, finely fruity with notes of tropical fruit and wild yellow flowers. Very light musky notes typical of the grape variety.
In the mouth it is harmonious, good structure, soft and enveloping, with a long and pleasant finish.
At the table it is exalted with seafood cuisine, fish appetizers, crudités, seafood risottos, fish in sauce or roasted, white meats and medium-aged cheeses.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 12 °C.
The name: homage to Saint Ephis, the martyr protector of the city of Cagliari, which identifies one of the most heartfelt festivals with great participation from all over Sardinia
