Contissa Vermentino di Sardegna DOC of the Trexenta Winery of Senorbì is a still white wine made from pure Vermentino grapes.
Vermentino grapes are grown in vineyards cultivated on sandy-clay soil, trained as espalier, with an average planting density of 5,000 vines/Ha and a production of about 85 quintals per hectare.
In the winery, selected grapes are started for crushing. The crushed mass, after a short period of cold maceration in order to extract more fragrance, is transferred to a soft press to obtain a first-rate must.
The must is then transferred to thermo-conditioned containers at a temperature of 16-18 °C to be started for alcoholic fermentation. After being filtered, the wine is bottled and allowed to rest for about a month.
Cantina Trexenta ‘s Vermentino Contissa is bright yellow in color with greenish tones, typical of Vermentino, with a delicious fruity and floral aroma that is appreciated in the bouquet and intensifies on the palate. The palate is dry and pleasant with an intense and persistent aftertaste.
At the table it goes perfectly with seafood dishes.
Taste at a temperature of 12 °C in a long-stemmed goblet.
The name: The tribute is to the countesses who owned vineyards in the agricultural center of Senorbì.
