Alter Nos is a still red wine Monica di Sardegna DOC Superiore produced by the Trexenta Winery of Senorbì in Sardinia, made from Monica grapes.

The first records of the cultivation of this noble grape variety in the province of Cagliari date back to 1887, according to ampelographic records. It is a vine with medium-high vigor and good vine resistance, usually ripening during the third decade of September.

The winemaking process: temperature-controlled maceration on 26-28 °C in stainless steel winemakers for 14/15 days. Malolactic fermentation in vitrified cement tanks. Evolution takes place in oak tonneaux for about 12 months and continues for about 6 months in the bottle.

Monica di Sardegna DOC Superiore Alter Nos, is ruby red in color. Intense and enveloping aroma of red fruit, wild blackberry and plum, with light balsamic, vanilla and spicy notes.

In the mouth it is a structured, harmonious and velvety wine with sweet tannins in perfect balance. With a long and pleasant finish.

At the table it is exalted with pasta, risotto, roasted and stewed red meats, lamb, and medium-aged cheeses.

It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 18 °C.

The name: In honor of the tradition we pay homage to the Alter Nos, the one who represents the meeting of religiosity and authority during the ceremony of Sant’Efisio, one of Sardinia’s most heartfelt and participatory festivals.
