Cagnulari Riserva is a still red Alghero DOC wine made from 100% Cagnulari grapes from the Alghero area, produced in Sardinia by Cantina Ledà.

The Cagnulari vineyards of the Riserva are trained on guyot training and cultivated on medium-calcareous sandy clay soil.

The area’s climate is typically Mediterranean with mild winters and very hot summers and frequent breezes. During the year the rainfall is rather low, concentrated mainly in the autumn and winter months.

The vineyards have a planting density of 4600 vines/ha. Once the grapes reach perfect ripeness, they are harvested strictly by hand with a yield per vine of 60 quintals per hectare.

Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and maturation in French oak barrels for 36 months before bottling.

The Cagnulari Riserva Alghero DOC is a wine with a beautiful deep ruby red colour, the nose offers ripe fruity scents of Mediterranean scrub such as blackberry, and spicy sensations of vanilla and pipe tobacco.

In the mouth, it is a structured Cagnulari, still fresh, with spicy notes.

On the table, an ideal companion for savoury earthy first courses, red meats, game, mature cheeses and cured meats.
