‘Nurà’ – Nuragus of Cagliari DOC – Agricola Soi
Nurà is the first Nuragus bottled in the village of Nuragus, it is a still white wine Nuragus di Cagliari DOC produced by the Agricola SOI obtained exclusively from Nuragus grapes from some historic vineyards characterized by local biotypes.
Nuragus grapes are grown on carbonate-rich soil with balanced clay content, bred to the Latin sapling system, with 4 or 5 spurs, non-irrigated, with an average yield per hectare of 70-80 quintals.
Harvesting is done by hand and earlier than the classic nuragus ripening time, in late September.
In the winery, the grapes are processed directly in a soft press in order to obtain homogeneous fractions of must that are separated from each other; only the heart of the pressing is sent to a low-temperature fermentation, 12°C.
Fermentation is followed by aging in 500-liter terracotta amphorae for 2 months “sur lies”; in this case we achieve optimal “elevage” and no extraneous transfer to the wine’s terroir.
Nuragus di Cagliari DOC, Nùra presents itself to the eye with a straw-yellow color with wonderful greenish reflections; the olfactory profile is characterized by great finesse and elegance, where over all stand out the helichrysum and asphodel typical of that Mediterranean scrub surrounding the vineyards.
On the palate, a savoriness balanced with acidity reminds us that although we are far from the sea, the marly soils derive from it and convey all their expressiveness to the wine.
At the table it accompanies fried fish, shellfish or mollusks, as well as tasty soups, again with fish. Excellent as an aperitif.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 10 °C.
Depending on the vintage, about four to five thousand bottles are produced.
